The election meeting of the guild will take place on Wednesday 6.11.2024 at 16.15 in lecture hall D of the Undergraduate centre. The purpose of the election meeting is to elect the board and officers for the next year 2025.
Athene is run entirely by volunteers, and it is therefore essential that enthusiastic people are found to take on the various tasks.
The purpose of this forum is to present the positions of Athene's board and officials, and to list those who have been nominated for these positions so far. So, if you are interested in being active in Athene, please announce your candidacy for a guild official position here. You can find information on the types of roles that are available in the post about Volunteer positions fit for non-Finnish speakers. However, there is nothing to stop you from inventing your own guild official position if you so wish.
None of the posts are pre-selected, and you don't need to know other actors or have held similar positions beforehand. Genuine enthusiasm for the job is the key, and everyone from Freshmen to Nth year students are welcome to join.
Guild activities offer excellent opportunities to get to know a wide range of other students, the school and companies, gain unforgettable experiences, learn new skills, boost your CV, complete great projects, grow as a person and, above all, make your time at university the best time of your life! So don't hesitate, get involved!
Other events of the Election period:

This year, the candidates' introductions will again focus on the election café, and only a short (max. 1 min) introduction will be possible during the official election meeting. We recommend you to run for office via the election forum before the café!
If you are interested in running for a guild official position, please follow the steps below:
- Read the job description and the volunteering principles
- Ask for more information, e.g. from the current holder of the post or from the Board, if needed.
- Read the guidelines for running for office and apply for candidacy on this forum.
- Come to the election café to share your thoughts and answer questions from the guild members
- Attend a meeting to influence the election
- There is no obligation to decide in advance to stand for election. Instead, it is perfectly possible to stand for an office only at the election meeting itself.
You can only vote in the elections if you are present. The elections and the election café will be also streamed online, and it is also possible to ask questions remotely at the Election Café. If you can't be present in the election assembly, you can still run for office. You can introduce yourself remotely, send a pre-recorded video to Markus two days before the assembly at the latest (on telegram @markuslaine or email markus@athene.fi) or ask a friend to speak on your behalf.
For more information about the elections, the Guild official roles or these pages, please contact the current Board (hallitus@athene.fi) or the current Chair of the Board (markus@athene.fi, telegram @markuslaine).
